Parenting can be an exciting phase of life. We can provide you with information on raising a healthy, happy child.

Yes! We welcome your partner or parents to visit Muskegon Pregnancy Services with you. We also have a male advocate to work one-to-one with your partner, helping him to understand his parenting responsibilities and how he can provide support for you.

Yes, we can provide a referral list for physicians, for pregnancy programs like MOMS and WIC, for education continuation, and other community help agencies.

Fetal Development

Major Milestones after Conception:

Week 1: Baby attaches to the uterus.

Week 3: Baby's heart starts beating.

Week 4: Baby's brain and spinal cord are developing.

Week 5: Facial features are visible, hands and feet are forming.

Week 6: Baby is 3/4 inch tall, brain waves are measurable, fingers and toes are forming.

Week 7: Baby begins to coordinate movement and possibly suck thumb.

Week 8: Every organ is now present that will be found in a fully developed adult.

Week 9-12: Baby is 3 1/2 inches tall, Baby can smile, sleep, exercise, and feel pain.

Month 4: By the end of the month the baby is 8-10 inches. The mother begins to "show".

Month 5: Baby is now 12 inches. Mom is feeling movement.

Month 7: The baby now uses the four senses of vision, hearing, taste, and touch. Baby recognizes mom's voice.

Month 9: Month ends with baby's birth! This baby whose life began at conception is now ready to take on the world!
